Liza Reisel has published articles and book chapters on inequalities in education, gender segregation in the labor market, equality and diversity legislation, education and labor market outcomes among children of immigrants, and health disparities. Many of her projects involve international comparative research based on large scale quantitative data or document analyses.

Over the past couple of years Reisel has co-edited two volumes on central gender equality topics: Kjønnsdeling og etniske skiller på arbeidsmarkedet (2014) and Gender Segregation in Vocational Education (2015)She is currently a member of the editorial board of the yearbook Comparative Social Research, and member of the Committee for Gender Balance and Diversity in Research's Working group on diversity in academia.

Reisel has her PhD in Sociology from the City University of New York. Reisel's doctoral thesis compared inequality in education in the United States and Norway. She has a Master's Degree in Migration and Ethnic Studies from the University of Amsterdam. From 2011 to 2015 she edited the Norwegian Journal of Working Life Studies (Søkelys på arbeidslivet).
