Our Research
Work and Family
Our research examines the importance of gender and parenthood for variations in career development. We also study changes in attitudes and perceptions toward an egalitarian family model, in light of international trends showing growing support for more traditional family values.
Gender-Segregated Labour Market
The Norwegian labour market is highly gender-segregated, although compared to other countries it is no longer among the most segregated. Research from CORE has contributed new knowledge on how this gender-segregated labour market is changing, and the two main factors driving these changes.
Gender Equality in the Public Sphere
CORE is concerned with tracking developments in attitudes toward issues of gender and equality. This is a key aim of the CORE Survey, a comprehensive questionnaire first conducted in 2022, with a new round scheduled for 2025.
Center Management
CORE is led by Mari Teigen and is part of the Institute for Social Research. The director of the department is Kyrre Lekve.
CORE has an internal steering committee consisting of researchers at the Institute for Social Research. The most important function of the internal steering group is to contribute to professional development and assist in issues related to CORE's daily operations.
