"Turmat fra hele verden" (Camping Food From All Over the World) is an initiative from Norsk Friluftsliv aimed at bridging Norwegian outdoor culture and international food culture. Norsk Friluftsliv is the umbrella organization for the 19 largest outdoor life organizations in Norway.
In this project, we will study this initiative based on three overarching research questions:
- How are the values from the project "Turmat fra hele verden" established in the practices of the member organizations of Norsk Friluftsliv?
- What assessments do the volunteers who have implemented this project in the member organizations of Norsk Friluftsliv have about "Turmat fra hele verden"?
- What do the participants think about "Turmat fra hele verden"?
We have various forms of data collection to answer these research questions. The three data sources are:
- Survey to leaders of local chapters in the member organizations of Norsk Friluftsliv. Here, we will ask about knowledge of the project, experiences with the project, and evaluations of the project specifically and inclusion in outdoor life in general.
- Survey to those who have been involved in the project through participation in courses, downloading the brochure, or receiving support. Here, we will request descriptions of practices, evaluations of the project, and views on inclusion in outdoor life.
- Qualitative interviews and focus groups with participants in activities within the project. Here, we will explore experiences, evaluations, and reflections on food as an entry point to inclusion in outdoor life and the role the project has played for the participants.
