Dorina er grensekriminolog med doktorgrad i kriminologi og rettssosiologi fra Universitetet i Oslo. Hun er interessert i statsborgerskap, rettighetsregimer, straff, og deportasjon, spesielt i forhold til kjønn. Hun har publisert forskningen sin i internasjonale tidsskrifter som Sociology, Punishment and Society, og International Journal of Qualitative Methods
