Project period May 2025–2026
Project employer Norges forskningsråd
Project nr. 10900 // NFR: 350487
Project leader Vera Skalicka, NTNU

Children's well-being encompasses aspects ranging from emotional life to living conditions and is highlighted in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. The aim of the pre-project Growing Up in Digital Europe (GUIDE) - preparation in Norway (GUIDEPREP-NOR) is to ensure Norway's future participation in the international research project GUIDE. This will be a comprehensive and long-term study of children's well-being in Europe. We will use the same research method in all participating countries (currently more than 20 European countries), measuring children’s wellbeing regularly from early childhood to young adulthood. The results from GUIDE will provide a comparable knowledge base on children's well-being in Norway and Europe, thereby contributing to political and public health recommendations.

By developing a digital infrastructure, pre-testing methodology, and working interdisciplinarily to secure funding, our ambition is to contribute to a solid knowledge base that will promote children's well-being. Read more at www.guidecohort.eu.
