Technology and Society
Our research examines how technological and digital development affects everyday life, institutions and relations of power both within the Norweigan context and beyond.
Digital technologies penetrate all core areas of contemporary society, from labour markets and welfare services to civil society and democracy. Our technology research concentrates especially on the ways that algorithmic platforms, artificial intelligence, social media and expanded or virtual realities impact the interplay between individuals, organisations and government. This research involves systematic study of how digital technologies shape experiences, norms, values and participation, and how these in turn affect society.
Our projects combine quantitative and qualitative methods, often in collaboration with partners in technology disciplines.
