Our Research

  • Perspectives on Participation What characterizes voluntary effort in Norway? The centre maps the extent of voluntary effort, the characteristics of volunteers, and the motivation for participation. We also study new forms of voluntary engagement and parental involvement in children's leisure activities.
  • Changes in the Voluntary Sector and Organisational Landscape What are the key influencing factors affecting the voluntary sector and how do organisations deal with the changes? We examine these factors that drive change in the voluntary sector.
  • Regulatory Framework Legal and economic frameworks for voluntary organisations are of great significance for the development of the voluntary sector. We will look at the framework conditions and funding situation for voluntary organisations in various fields of varying economic size and geographical affiliation.
  • The Impact of Volunteering How do voluntary organisations contribute to solving important societal challenges? We build on our extensive research and aim to further develop knowledge and research in the field.
