Analysis of Causes for High Covid-19 Infection Rates in Some Immigrant Groups

What factors and mechanisms can explain the high infection rates in certain immigrant communities?

Project period April 2021–2023
Project nr. 10597 / 10602
Project leader Jan-Paul Brekke

The project has defined two research questions that will guide the study:

  1. What factors and mechanisms can explain the high infection rates in some immigrant communities?
  2. How can the knowledge from the study contribute to improving long-term integration efforts in Norway, including preparedness and handling of potential future health crises?

While research question 1 will guide the project's work, the research team will regularly discuss aspects that can illuminate research question 2.

The project has been developed in consultation with, and will be carried out in collaboration with, the Norwegian Institute of Public Health (FHI).
