Ongoing project

DIGIT – Norwegian Research School on Digitalization, Culture and Society

ISF is a partner in the research project DIGIT – The Research School. The project offers a two-year program for PhD candidates or postdoctoral researchers registered at Norwegian universities.

Project period 2022–2026
Project nr. 10617 / NFR: 331843

DIGIT started in 2022 and is a collaboration between eight Norwegian universities, the Institute for Social Research (led by Kari Steen-Johnsen), and six partners from the public and private sectors. DIGIT is administered by the Research Center for the Digitalization of Public Services and Social Citizenship (CEDIC) at OsloMet and is funded by the Norwegian Research Council.

By facilitating dialogues across these established fields of study, DIGIT will foster opportunities for new theorization and exchange about new research methods. The goal is to build capacity on new digital methodologies, such as digital ethnography, visual ethnography, digital narratives and big data analysis.
