Project Purpose

The main purpose of the project was to discuss opportunities and challenges for measuring the prevalence of hate speech with various methodological approaches.

Project Approach

We discussed in the use of survey methods and content analysis for studying hate speech, and examine in particular the possibilities for using automatic analysis of Big data to analyse the prevalence of hate speech.

In addition, the project resulted in a proposal for a research design to empirically study the prevalence of hate speech.
