Feminism and multiculturalism – the FEMM-network

Institute for social research (ISF) will from 1.1.2008 continue and further elaborate the existing FEMM-network (Feminism and multiculturalism). The FEMM-network has since 2003 been connected to the Centre for Women’s Studies and Gender Research (SKK), at the University of Oslo . The IMER-program of the Research Council of Norway has since 2006 financed a part-time position to coordinate the FEMM-network. The coordinator will, in cooperation with a steering committee, be responsible for the working and administration of the network by:

Organizing seminars (continuation of the regular FEMM-seminars), approaching researchers, students, politicians and practioners.Elaborating a new website for the FEMM-network, distributing information on arrangements, scientific articles, academic papers, lectures, presentations etc.
Organizing research seminars for active researchers all over the Norwegian society.

Planning and initiate the financing of an international conference in the spring 2009, connecting the different projects and networks attached to FEMM.
Initiating financing of information services from KILDEN (centre for information and documentation for gender research in ) and Gender in .
