Creating a competitive edge through diversity
Gender balance in academia is a central research topic for NORDICORE, our Nordic Center of Excellence, and we're happy to participates in KIF committee's conference Creating a competitive edge through diversity – leadership for Nordic research excellence towards 2030 this November.
The Committee for Gender Balance and Diversity in Research (KIF committee) hosts the conference Creating a competitive edge through diversity – leadership for Nordic research excellence towards 2030, 8-9. November 2017.
The conference is a Nordic research summit for leadership, diversity and equality. Here you can participate in dialogue on how diversity and gender equality is key to creating a competitive edge in Nordic research. The summit will highlight the Nordic paradox where equal access to employment and politics coexists with inequality for women in academia. This challenges the goal of excellence in Nordic research.
This summit is central to our Nordic Center of Excellence, NORDICORE. Several of our researches will attend the conference, and:
- Mari Teigen, Director at CORE – Centre for Research on Gender Equality, participates in the second session: The Nordic paradox.
- Guðbjörg Linda Rafnsdottir, Prorector of science, University of Iceland, participates in the fifth session: Nordic leadership.
- Arnfinn H. Midtbøen, Senior Research Fellow, Institute for Social Research, participates in the panel at the fourth session: Nordic solutions.
